Guide To Polarity Therapy

What Is Polarity Therapy?

It was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, in the USA. He was a chiropractor, osteopath and naturopath. Polarity therapy is both an art and science that is said enlivens and harmonises the life energy within a human body, the Prana or Qi. Dr. Stone used the basic universal law of energy coming out of a source and then returning to it in a continuous flow. A polarity therapist will work on the uninterrupted flow of this energy throughout the body in order to maintain good health. A blockage of energy is said to cause symptoms and illness in the long run.

Who Can Polarity Therapy Help?

Problems addressed can be physical, emotional or deeper. The main uses are stress, lethargy, migraine, digestive disorders, back pain and arthritis, although most illnesses and conditions are said to be helped. For the Therapy to succeed, it needs the patients full co-operation, commitment and belief.

What Does Polarity Therapy Involve?

As with most therapies, the therapist will take a case history from the patient. The therapist will then analyse the energy patterns and physical structure, searching for any blocks in the flow of Prana (or Qi). Treatment is based on nutrition, polarity yoga exercises (gentle rocking movements), hands on manipulation involving concentrated pressure on specific body points in order to realign the posture, possible changes of lifestyle and attitudes and possibly Herbal Medicine or Bach remedies.
