Guide To Kinesiology
What Is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a manipulative therapy by which the patient's health is assessed by a system of muscle testing. Practitioners test muscle strength to diagnose any imbalance(s) that may be present in the bodys systems. Physical, Chemical and Mental 'challenges' are carried out by the practitioner to detect any problems. The way a muscle responds to the practitioners gentle manual pressure is said to reveal the way the whole body is functioning.
Who Can Kinesiology Help?
Practitioners say that the therapy can help almost anyone, but the system is probably best known for helping with Allergies and Food Intolerances.
What Does Kinesiology Involve?
The therapist will start by taking a case history from the patient. Then the patients major muscle groups are systematically tested. This involves the practitioner showing the patient to hold an arm or leg into a position and then holding it steady against a gentle but firm pressure. If the limb sags or feels spongy, then further tests are performed to find out why.
